Granite Belt Music Council President Kelvin Johnston was audibly stoked with the "biggest crowd yet" of audience members in Weeroona Park on Sunday, March 16.

"We are going from strength-to-strength," he told our newspaper after the gathering under autumn skies last Sunday. "The band was paid and the country spirit worked very well, to put in such a successful event."

The local supporter of bands and performers said a small profit was made thanks to the contributions to raffle prizes especially, and the "boot-scooting" didn't disappoint, neither did the gazebos that offered extra shade.

"I'm always happy to see kids dancing and having the time of their life," Kelvin said.

The council's next event is at The Summit Bowls Club on April 5, with Lindy Morrison of the Go-Betweens and Rob Snarski from the Triffids, plus Punktilious and Australia Day award winner, Ryon Gibson.
